BBQ Side Burner will not light up,?

My BBQ side burner will not light up, i can light it with a match and stay light. But i cant start it up with the button. i can see the spark but it wont take. any ideals why. Thanks

yes, if i turn on the side burner and put a match up to the gas it will start up. but i don't want to keep doing that.

If you can see the spark on the side burner, then you need to adjust the electrode to a different point. It is not getting into the gas flow. You did say that you could light it with a match.

most likely the battery is low or wet or there is a wire disconnected from ignitor to burner
