Here are the factors that i think could slow them down but definetly not stop them.
1) starting pitching - They have legitimate three ace's (curt, Josh and Dice) and 4th pitcher who is a veteran and knows how to pitch (tim) and if they stay healthy then come now till the playoffs it will be very tough to stop them
2) Batting lineup -- 1 to 10 they different people step up each time and it feels for once they just don't have to rely on big papi and manny to do the deed. It is great to see every other position in lineup can stepup any day and do the job. So if they keep doing this then they can't be stopped.
3) Relief pitching -- They still have lester and timlin to come back from injury. Papelbon is a beast and being rested and used cautiously so the way team is playing and Okajima is pitching it just means more rest for papelbon and if redsox have the lead from 6th inning to 9th anytime then relief pitching will finish the job. So the way relief pitchers are pitching they no they can't be stopped and it seems they could get more healthier not good for rest of the league.
4) Confidence -- The way they are playing and winning only builds confidence and being a veteran experienced team they won't blow it even one piece of the puzzle goes in the slump. So in other words no they can't be stopped.
5) Right now Manny is still playing catch up meaning he hasn't got hot yet. JDdrew is struggling and is very good hitter to turn it around. Lugo will get better as he sees more pitchers and pitches along with rest of the team. So looking at the batting lineup hasn't reached its full potential speaks that no they can't be stopped.
I think the team overall has excellent chemistry, experience, deep pitching and are healthy so in other words NO THEY CAN'T BE STOPPED.

Of course the Sox can be stopped. A wise Red Sox fan told me something once that really rings true. Boston wins in April and May while the Yankees win in September and October.

For winning the AL East this year? Probably not. They look too good and I don't think any other team in the division has enough to run them down as things stand right now, assuming they stay healthy. It's a long, long season though. We're less than 1/3 of the way into it.

I'm a Red Sox fan too, but the season is very long, 162 games. The Yankees have too much talent, and they will improve and make a challenge for the playoffs before the end of the regular season. So yes, the Red Sox can be stopped.

It's too early in the season to ask. Do you remember last August? The Sox had a generous lead and let it all go- even got swept FIVE games at home! Not to mention- there is still plenty of time for the Yanks to BUY more players.

As far as the regular season goes, I dont think anyone is going to stop them. At this point they look like a sure lock for winning the AL East and going to the post season. But anything can happen in the post season, so dont count a world series victory just yet.

Its a long season but barring some major long term injuries I cant see them loosing the division with the lead they have dont forget lester is going to be back soon which will make the rotation even stronger which will send tavarez to the pen along with timlin so they have two of the best closers in papelbon and okijima and two solid middle relievers in timlin and tavarez their bats arent hot yet either and they have still been kickin a$ and taking names.

Yes there are a lot of good ball teams out there and on any given night any team can beat any other team. This is professional sports and all teams are capable of playing at a extraordinary level

Not this year. GREAT pitching and John Lester has yet to throw a pitch for them but will soon. GREAT hitting lineup. Solid defense. AND, most important of all, they have a winning attitude and TEAM chemistry. All adds up to a championship for them.
Chow!!
