We had a fox terrier named Goldy for nearly 9 yrs. She is very nice & very loyal dog. She is only a small one. When we go camping she's always there tagging along when we go bushwalking. She does bark of course when some cars or people passing by our camp just to let us know there's a stranger coming along. She likes digging some of the bones we give him,put tthem on the ground & find it later & then chew it to his heart's content. Guess what, we cried when he died 3 yrs. ago because of old age. He is 13 in doggie yrs.

First noone can answer this without knowing what kind of terrier. Chihuahuas are not hart to train My siser owns and breeds chis. I have two and they were very easy to train.
some terriers can be nippy. Most terriers are very high strung.
Some terriers can be territorial.
until you say waht type of terrier no one will know they can tell you about each specific kind but they all differ.
Good luck but fFI believe any dog witht he proper training will be a great dog

Here is some info on Chihuahuas:

Since Terriers come in alot of different styles and temperments, it would be hard to say what traits he will have.
It also will depend on you. How you raise him. Make sure you stay the pack leader or you could have a fisty little guy on your hands.

Terries are very busy in general. And Chihuahua's are terrible at house training. They are also noisy and can have temper problems, well most of them, obvisously not all.
