This question may come accross as racist, but why do we always associate "handsome" with "white"?

Look at depictions of Jesus Christ for instance.
Depictions of angels...
Ask a man about his favorite type of women...
Even indian, asians, and blacks desire white women.
Wether you admit it or not, our mind always associates beauty with fair skin and colored eyes. The question is "WHY"?

Because white is superior.

God created human of white color first, and it is the standard color which God set in the human mind that make him feel white skin is beautiful.

Other colors only appear after Babel tower. They are of non standard colors.

I think some of the most beautiful humans are Eurasian. The depiction of Jesus was drawn by white people. It's not too hard to imagine why. When you say "our" mind always associates beauty with fair skin, I can only assume you are white. Like is attracted to like, at least among humans. The bottom line for me is that there is beauty in every race. It is not the skin color, it is the features, the eyes, and the physique that determine what is beautiful or handsome. Why does one person look beautiful? That's a more interesting question. I think an intelligent face looks beautiful. What is an intelligent face? That's a bit esoteric, but I know one when I see one.

When you say "we" you obviously mean yourself. I don't associate the word "handsome" with "white" at all. When people state that their questions maybe taken as being racist, its because they usually are! Jesus was not "white" and why would we think he is "handsome". Where does the angel bit come into it, usually when you ask a man about his favourite type of woman, I can almost guarantee "white" isn't his first thought - well, unless maybe he is racist!!!
And where do you get the information which suggests other creeds prefer white women??? The real question is "Why do you think all people have the same opinions that you do?" The answer my friend is easy:

I would be inclined to assume that you're white, but perhaps not. I myself do not fit that stereotype. My husband is dark haired and kind of ruddy in skin tone. His eyes are a beautiful dark brown. He has some native American ancestry. And my little girls' eyes are so dark they border on black. I think they're beautiful. And I have seen so many handsome black men, and so many beautiful children of every race. If I were a man, I think I would find Asian women absolutely gorgeous for their exotic appearance.

Yet, you're right; many see the fair, blond, blue-eyed type as the physical "ideal."

Anyone with sense knows Jesus didn't fit that description- He was born in the Middle East. He'd have stuck out like a sore thumb if He looked like the pictures. Besides, Isaiah said He would have "no beauty that we should desire Him." So what makes us think He was even nice to look at?

And everyone in the Bible who ever saw an angel had to be told to "fear not." So I highly doubt that angels look like benevolent Barbie dolls.

But as I recall, Halle Berry was voted as the ideal woman in some poll within the last couple of years, by men. Yes, I know she's not as black as some, but she's certainly not blonde and blue eyed. So I don't think what you say applies as much as it did, perhaps, a few decades ago. I think stereotypes are starting to change, and about time, too!

I must prove you wrong. I do not desire white women and Jesus (pbuh) was not white. He is depicted as a white man but he wasn't. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize this. To find out if you are correct about your question why dont you ask Women what they prefer and do the same for the Men with your next yahoo questions. I bet this question will seem foolish in the end.

I didnt think that but jesus christ seemed white but he wasnt and the angels are white bcause u have to look into who created the images(wht ppl) years ago. I think that there are beautiful ppl of all races especially mines(blk). If u ask a guy who is the prettiest woman they'll say Halle Berry(mixed-blk & wht) so its where u come from in life to appeciate what u find attractive. Alot of ppl find ethnic ppl sexy(and the ones that dont its bcause its taboo more with guys than girls) . Beauty is only skin deep but a personality makes a person.

I always liked the color red and green more. White stains really easy. I can tell you are not very bright, no intelligent man would make a broad statement like this. I think opposites attract, it is not necessarrily that other races like white women maybe they just like something different from the mirror you know. Personally I do not give a rats a s s what color a girl is if she has a pretty face.

I am Asians and my skin colour is not white actually(of course! i'm Asians) and the truth is yes, i also like white, fair skin women.
It is weird when one guy whom is black in nature because of his race is attracted to other race that opposite of his skin colour.
maybe the influence of media (television, Internet etc) change everyone perspective about this 'phenomena'.
maybe it's also related to religion history example Christian(i hope this will not make any religious prejudice) even Jesus Christ is white? And so His mate and friends.
And one thing for sure is the Biggest nation in this World is conquer by white people. And they always promote their beauty in their way and spread the commercials all around the globe showed their white glamorous model.

I concure . I am caucasion and find all types of human life
attractive in each their own right. the thought occurs is not Micheal Jordan considered a hamdsome charming man , and Lucy Lui a beautiful and charming women. just a couple of instances of the variety of the human species . If the variety of life is the spice of life is the paranoid delusion to the contrast narrow minded and an unwarranted dispersion against the very human race of which we each belong .
why not walk a mile in the shoes of others an find the need to level the playing field for our own well being.

Its becasue for years, thats what society has pounded in our heads. Its not always true, but if you look at the media its the same way. Beautfiull black woman is considered Halle berry, why not someone of a darker skin tone? Its society!
