I really know why, I just wanted to add some more comments that maybe you guys havent thought about. I know shes very funny, she actually acts like one of my sisters, and honestly she used to be much prettier, but she is starting to look more like a man these days. Her mouth is starting to look dirty, her filthy lifestyle is starting to show on her whether anyone wants to admit it or not. She is a great comedian, but I stopped watching her because she has put down homeschoolers before, I wonder why? maybe because she knows some of us keep our kids at home to keep them away from people that want to tell them this lifestyle is o.k.? Anyways, Oprah and Ellen are super funny and generous, but they are poor leaders, and I frankly get turned off by their little messages that they send out. Let the blind lead the blind, I wont be part of that crowd.

Ellen is an every woman. She appeals to the older crowd with her generally inoffensive humor. I saw her during her stand up days and she did a Bob Newhart bit. She just tries to be nice.

As for the homeschooling comment, that is an individual choice, but if the reason one homeschools is to keep a child away from homosexuals, different races or other "influences," just remember now or later, the child will encounter people with a different skin color or sexual preference down the road. I think homeschooling is great for many though because if a parent really cares about their child's education, homeschooling is a decent alternative. Many people don't understand it. And you're talking about an old-school comedienne who made the comment so she is appealing to an audience base who did endure the public school system.

To answer the question, why people like Ellen. I think it's because she is like warm oatmeal. Watch her right after Jerry Springer. She is an antidote to the fighting and bickering on other shows.

Why I don t like Ellen: 1) Not really very funny (2) Her dancing re-affirms the stereotype that white people can t dance (3) Pushes her gayness to the point of nausea (4) On Am. Idol she didn t know that Leonard Cohen (not Jeff Buckely) wrote Hallelujah (5) Tries to act like she s a hip 25 yr. old, when in reality she s a 55 yr. old dilettante and (6) she is so egotistical, even narcissists won t have anything to do with her...

This is like asking why don't people like lasagna? Ellen DeGeneres is funny, compassionate, generous, she is beautiful and has had a positive influence on Hollywood and culture in general. She isn't scared to say how she feels, and I adore that in a person. What makes people "ugly" to me, is their personality.

This is an ugly question, it's ugly to point out what you don't like in someone with constructive criticism.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY FILTHY LIFESTYLE??!!!!!

She does not lead a 'filthy' lifestyle.
Your mind is filthy w/ all that homophobic crap you were taught.

Ellen is funny, down to earth, likes all kinds of people, is energetic and her shows are interesting. Her shows are not boring political banter about which political party is better or correct about issues.

It is an easy watch, non threatening.

Hey, IT'S ENTERTAINMENT!!

I like Ellen because she is down-to-earth, cares for people, and is genuine. She seems as though you could talk to her about anything. She's funny, witty, sensitive, and smart.

Oh, and she is the complete opposite of Rosie O'Donnell.

She is funny and she is a good person. I don't see her criticizing others, she's about living her life how she wants it and having fun. She does a lot of good for other people. I wouldn't call her lifestyle filthy, that's being judgmental and I just say to each their own.

Because the TV brainwashing effect is far beyond the comprehension capacity of the viewing masses! And this true on anything that the TV Execs are set to exploit!

I like the little messages she sends, only to me, through the TV, about how much she likes chocolate fudge and where she can find the time to add that addition to her lovedome. I like that about her. She does have a flat butt, though.
