First I would do is clean the house first; dust, vaccuum... then get air purifiers, febreze, candles, what ever rocks ur boat.

I'd have to recommend scented candles that are so fragrant
you don't even have to light them. I have some I bought at
a Craft Warehouse I believe it was, that are so fragrant, and
don't even have to light them. I have one in my bedroom and
all it takes is one to scent the room it's so nice. Not all
candles will do that tho.You have to check them out.
I won't go with the incense since it's smokey and affects
the lungs and can make you cough and have an allergy
reaction if you have Asthma so I found out. Some people
have a knack with pot pourri, but I can douse a pile of it,and
never have much luck. So I stick with candles and just look
at my wimpy pile of pot pourri with oil over it. I must be
doing it wrong LOL.
My daughter has candles throughout her house that she
buys at candle parties. And her home does smell heavenly.
She won't buy any other kind than the one brand for their
lasting scent. But they cost a bit more.
I hope you can get your home smelling wonderful, with
whatever source works best for you.

That's tricky, because everyone likes different smells - however, you could pick a scent you like and either:

a. buy fresh scented flowers (old fashioned "Stock" also called Gillyflower is a really beautiful scented one - I also love freesias and jonquils and scented roses)
b. burn incense or oil burner
c. bake some cookies or roast some coffee beans or melt some chocolate
d. you can buy those plug in scent things - but I think they smell awful
e. open up the windows and let the fresh air through

1. get a 20" box fan place a merv 11 20"X20"x1 furnace filter behind it. then place a charcoal filter cut to that size behind the furnace filter. tape or staple on furnace back of filter. 2. find a fragance you like in incense or oil and use it . this will remove allergens bad smells and replace them with a smell you like. then your house should smell divine.

I use industrial air freshener dispensers (got them online from a place called air delights) They automatically dispense at preset intervals ( you set the interval) and they work great. One can of the fragrance stuff lasts about 3 months for us and sure beats the heck out of those little plug in things you buy at the supermarket.

Just open the windows! That makes your house smell really fresh.

Other things that work: baking bread, simmering spices in water on the stove, spraying Febreze, burning vanilla or cinnamon or citrus candles (depending on what you like and what season it is).

Baking always works. Or cheap and easy, boil some cinnamon sticks on the stove.

Oxyacetylene welding works for me, but if you ask my girlfriend, she'd recommend candles from Yankee Candle or scented oils from Bath & Bodyworks.
