Brown Vs. Board of Education desegregated public schools across the country.

The Stonewall Riots in New York City during the 60's made people recognize homosexuality in America and led to wider acceptance.

Martin Luther King's "I Have A Dream" speech from the Lincoln Memorial helped bring down racial barriers. In fact most of King's work helped promote acceptance of minorities.

"The Great Society" legislation that President Johnson pushed through congress should also be considered.

end of slavery for sure. The crumbling of that system paved the way towards a multicultural America. And by the way, its going the right direction.
