I have been living here for eight months and have been paying at least $200 more than him each month. We are pretty good friends although now I obviously think less of him. I already confronted him but now what should I do? Ideas? Experience?

well that's kind of your fault, did you read the lease?

Sucks but I suppose you should have been more observant.

Also, is your room any larger?

And I agree with the person above, if his name is on the lease alone, then he can charge what he wants.

If it is his apartment he could charge whatever he wants. If he advertised a certain amount and anyone including yourself agrees to that price it shouldn't matter. That is what you agreed on. I suppose you could find another place or just keep on like you have been. It could turn inot a big mess and he could kick you out too. You have a choice.

I would get out your lease... providing you have one. Compare the two and both of your incomes and ask to have it re-evaluated. If that's not an option, I would move the hel* out! Screw that crap.

It's best you tell him that he's being unfair. But if he just ignores you, it's best you get another room to stay in.

Tell him it should be equal, or you'll move out
