When you get to a yellow light when driving, Do you speed up or slow down?

I pick my point of no return before the light turns amber... then if the light turns amber and I can stop safely, after checking my rearview mirror, I do... if I have passed my point of no return when the light turns amber, I continue at the same speed through the intersection, after rechecking my rearview mirror and scanning the intersection.... I never speed up to beat the light. My point of no return depends on three factors: my speed, the road conditions and how close and large is the vehicle behind me, if any.

If I'm really close to the lights then I speed up but if I have plenty of time then I slow down.

It depends how close I am to the yellow. If it seems like I can make it by hitting the accel, I speed up. If it looks like it's too far out, and that by the time I get to it- it'll be red, I slow down then.

I speed up and try and make it through the lights before they turn red if I'm not far from the intersection!

But speeding like a bat out of hell at a clear intersection is still one of my favorite pass times!

when im in the car with someone, it usually depends on how far away they are from the light. if they're close enough they speed up. and if they're far away the usually slow down.
