I've been having fairly regular contractions for about 2 1/2 days now. Most I've barely been aware of, this evening some of them have hurt and they're lasting about 5 minutes at at time.
One started just when the doorbell rang, it was my MIL and her ward who had called to say they were coming to drop off the carpet cleaner I asked to borrow...
I wanted to tear the heads of my dogs (I love my dogs fiercely and it breaks my heart to think of them hurt), I imagined the front rug on fire because it got caught in the door, my MIL's ward who's 14 asked "and how's my little fatty and baby?" my face went scarlet and I wanted to tear her hair out by the roots...
The next one I felt like I wanted to just smash everything I saw.
After that I returned to being a normal person and not hell spawn.
Anyone else experience occasional RAGE through contractions? Or have I gone completely crazy?

Contractions are a bit irregular but I have been recording them. I know I'm having some I can't feel as a home care nurse checked on me yesterday and they were showing up on a NST.
What I KNOW I'm having are anywhere from 6-45 minutes apart and 2-5 minutes long.
Anger COULD have been focused at "daddy" I guess, but he wasn't home.

No girlfriend, you are not crazy. Rage is a part of labor and delivery.
It goes back to the cave man days when women usually gave birth out in the wild alone.
The rage is caused by the rush of hormones that our bodies experience during the final stages of pregnancy.
It is natures way of warding off intruders who might harm us or harm the baby that we are about to bring into the world. It also gives us a rush of energy that is very much needed to get us through labor and delivery.
So, go ahead and rage....... Don't feel guilty and don't feel like there is something wrong with you. It is a normal part of pregnancy.
Of course.....we are more civilized then our cavemen ancestors...... we have the intellect to keep our rage under control and to not actually latch out at others.
If you feel that you can not control your anger, then perhaps your obstetrician can be a source of support. A good physician will understand.

It is common to have Rage during the Transditional phase of labor. It is like a frantic feeling.
It sounds like you need to have your cervex checked to see if you are close to delivery. I would check in to the ER tonight or call your doctor.
You haven't mentioned how far your contrations are apart.
Please write down the time and duration of your contrations.
It is important to do this. It is rare but there are contractions that can have a pattern but you won't see the pattern unless you write it down . For instance a woman might have two contractions four minutes apart. Then there is a 20 minute space of time. Then she has two more contractions each 5 minutes apart. Then a 20 space. See the pattern? The woman almost had the baby at home.
Also, some women think that their contractions have to be exactly a certian minutes apart. For instance one contraction, then 4 and a half minutes till the next one, Then six minutes, then five minutes, then five again, then 4 and a half again.
What I am trying to say is that contractions arn't exactually, exactually that accurate.
Again, I believe you need to see a doctor asap
You might be closer to delivery than you realize.

I've delivered 3 babies before and so I been thru labor and delivery and I was never in a rage. I was excited and ready to get to the hospital and have my baby. However, once I got there and the contractions grew closer and longer and more intense, I became impatient with people, but never been in a rage before. Maybe your hormone level went beyond too high.

I did that too. Before I knew I was in early labor I screamed at my 2 year old when he asked for a PB&J and then asked that I cut the crust off. after I calmed down and appologised(fixed his PBJ too) I realised that I was in labor.
btw- Labor or not I would have wanted to deck someone for calling me "little fatty"
In active labor I was a monster! I was yelling and swearing up a storm during contractions. I even got snippy with my midwife. I would then calm down and relaxed in between. My husband said it was funny.
so don't worry its ok

Its normal to rage when havng contractions, however most rage is directed at the father! Your man must be good to you if you arent trying to rip his head off! Best off luck, hope your man does more to show you that he cares for you than MINE did!
