I was about 26 y/o, when the family did a camping trip at Sebastian Inlet, here in FLA, where I live. I was swimming in a canal when 3 manatees came up to me. A momma, pappa, and a young one, and I was able to touch and rub the 2 adults. However when Jr came up to me, and I tried to touch, momma give me a gentle push that moved me about 10' away from her child. I could touch mom and dad, but not their child.
Anyway, I spent about 25 minutes in the water with them until they decided to leave.

Heck yeah, I've done it... lived in Pompano Beach, FL & my backyard was part of the intercoastal canal. It was the coolest... Ain't love cute?
