If you are in love you will love the person even when they are old and wrinkled. Lust is different, it's loving the physical being only. I don't really know how to tell exactly, but imagine different scenarios. If the one you loved had cancer and lost all of their hair, if they became disabled, burned in a fire, etc. Would you still love them or are the feelings purely superficial? I think you can love someone you werent originally physically attracted to and then they become beautiful to you because you love them so much as a person, if that makes sense...

Lust will wear off and love won't. Lust is wanting someone sexually, maybe it seems like love at first sight but it is just a physical attraction. Love is so different, you want to be with them 24/7, you love them when you are fighting, you can't imagine your life without them in it. You will know when it is love, believe me.

I would say lust is more to do with the physical aspect of desire, while love is more spiritual, and soulful, more meaningful. But then again, the two are hard to distinguish sometimes.
