Bribery is an punishable offence under section 171E of the Indian Penal Act, 1860 for the offence during elections with an imprisonment of one year or fine or both in case the bribe is given or taken in the form of money & only fine if the gratification/bribe is taken or given in form of kind such as food, drink, entertainment, or provision. In the formal case the period of limitation as provided by the Criminal procedure code, 1973 for court to take cognizance is one year from the date of offence being committed, or came in knowledge of the person or police or the offender being identified & six months for the later case. In case a criminal complaint is made under the Prevention of Corruption Act1988, any public servant involved in taking bribe or any person giving bribe can face imprisonment not less then six moths that can extend upto 5 years, hence in such a case there is no time limitation under the Criminal procedure code. Such criminal compliant can be made & taken cognizance by the court any time with out any time limitation bar.

You can complain all you want about bribery in India. NOTHING is going to happen. Corruption wise India is one of the leading countries in the third world ooops!! developing countries where corruption is rampant and form of daily livelihood.

So save your time and don't bother because all your complaints will fall on deaf ears and in order to get any action if you are very persistent you will have to pay somebody a BRIBE !!!!!!

There is no limitation. However, one need to explain the delay properly and satisfactorily, else it creates doubt on credibility of case.
