You haven't placed any brackets, so i cannot tell very well what exactly is there...

But still, multiply both sides by the denominators and you'd get a second-degree equation, which i hope you know how to solve.

6/m+5 = 1 - 1/m-5

Careful use of parentheses is always clarifying. I guess you mean to write

6/(m + 5) = 1 - 1/(m - 5)

If so, then clear the fractions by multiplying both sides of the equation by the LCD, (m + 5)(m - 5)

6(m - 5) = (m + 5)(m - 5) - 1(m + 5)

6m - 30 = m^2 - 25 - m - 5

m^2 - 7m = 0

m(m - 7) = 0

m = 0, 7

Check

6/(m + 5) = 1 - 1/(m - 5)

m = 0
6/5 = 1 - 1/(-5) = 1 + 1/5 = 6/5

m = 7
6/12 = 1 - 1/2
1/2 = 1/2

Which one do you exactly mean?

(6/m) + 5 = 1- (1/m) - 5 --------> I don't think this is the case.
(6/m) + 5 = 1- 1/(m - 5)
6/(m + 5) = 1- (1/m) - 5 ---------> I don't think this is the case.
6/(m + 5) = 1- 1/(m - 5)

In every equation solving, we try to collect the variable containing terms on one side and the constant terms on the other side of the equation.

If you meant
(6/m) + 5 = 1 - (1/m) - 5

Then:
6/m + 1/m = -5 + 1 - 5

=> 7/m = -9
=> m = -7/9

If you meant:

(6/m) + 5 = 1 - (1/m-5)

Then:
6/m + 1/(m-5) = 1 - 5

Multiply both sides by [m(m-5)]

6(m-5) + m = -4m(m-5)
=> 7m - 30 = - 4m² + 20m
=> 4m² - 13m - 30 = 0
Solve this equation and you'll get:
m = 4.809
& m = -1.559

If you meant :
6/(m + 5) = 1- (1/m) - 5

Then: 6/(m+5) + 1/m = -4
Multiply both sides by [m(m+5)]

6m + m+5 = -4m(m+5)
=> 7m + 5 = -4m² -20m
=> 4m² + 27m + 5 = 0
=> m = -6.559 & m = -0.191

And finally if you meant:
6/(m + 5) = 1- 1/(m - 5)

Then:
6/(m+5) + 1/(m-5) = 1
=> Multiply both side by [(m-5)(m+5)] which is (m² - 25)
=>6(m-5) + (m +5) = m² - 25
=> 6m - 30 + m + 5 = m² - 25
=> -m² + 7m = 0
=> m = 0 & m = 7

You have left loose ends by not introducing parantheses. So, let us follow two different alternatives:

Alternative 1: (There are no parantheses)
6/m + 5 = 1 - 1/m - 5
Multiply by m
Hence, 6 + 5m = m - 1 - 5m
9m = -1-6
= -7
m = -7/9

Alternative 2: (There are parantheses)
(6) / (m + 5) = (1) - [(1)/(m-5)]
Hence, m = 7

I have solved your problem with both the alternatives. Define your problem and answer is readily available to you.

6/m + 5 = 1 - 1/m - 5

transpose..separate terms containing numbers and variables..dont forget to change the sign after transposition

6/m + 1/m = 1 - 5 - 5

7/m = -9

cross multiply..

m = 7/-9

Ques: (6/m) + 5 = 1 - (1/m) -5 ans => First multiply through out the given equation by m , we get 6+5m = m-1-5m
Now, subtract 6 from both sides, gives 6 + 5m -6 = -4m -1 -6 => 5m = -4m-7 then add 4m on both sides, we get 5m+4m = -4m+4m-7 => 9m = -7 => m = -7/9.

6/m + 5 = 1 - 1/m - 5

6/m + 5 = -1/m - 4

6/m + 1/m = -9

7/m = -9

7 = -9m

m = -7/9

This is the answer if you don't have any parentheses in the original question. You might want to double check the problem.

u have not placed the brackets .So I try to give an answer different from others

(6/m)+5=1-1/(m-5)

(6+5m)/m={(m-5)-1}/(m-5)
(6+5m)(m-5)=(m-4)(m)
5m^2-19m-30=m^2-4m
4m^2-15m-30=0
solve the above eqn and find the ans.

i guess you mean to write,

6/(m+5)=1-1/(m-5)

To solve this, we need to take LCM on right side.
The LCM on the right side is (m-5).
So we can get,

6/(m+5) = ((m-5)-1)/(m-5)

= (m-6)/(m-5)
Take the cross multiplication.
So,
6(m-5) = (m-6)(m+5)
6m-30=m^2+5m-6m-30
6m-30=m^2-m-30
Combining the variables one side and the constants other side.
I have to combine the variables on right side and constants on left side.
-30+30=m^2-m-6m
0=m^2-7m
0=m(m-7)
Then we have m=0 or m=7.
