A miscarriage will leave a type of scare tissue within and yes the doctor can tell. When I was pregnant with my daughter 9 years ago my ob had ask me if I had a miscarriage recently because of some scar tissues. Later on we found out that my daughter would of been a twin except I had miscarried one fetus.
So do not lie to your ob they are there to help you. Sometimes lying about something like that can lead to trouble.

Yes, there is! Once you're pregnant your body produces hormones (i.e.-the hormones that cause a lot of women to have "morning" sickness, or the HCG hormone the one that triggers a positive pregnancy test) and when you're pregnant and have the baby, lose the baby, whether it be miscarriage or abortion these hormones stay in your body for a little while they don't just disappear. A doctor can also look at your uterus and tell if you were ever pregnant. With the technology they have these days they can do just about anything but a simple ultrasound and blood test will let them know whether or not you were ever pregnant.

You told him you had one in the past or that you miscarried during a current pregnancy? If you told them you had one in the past, I believe it depends on how far along you told him you were when you miscarried. If it was far enough along that it would require a D&C they can usually tell you had one or if you needed one. If you told them it was like a week or 3 after conception and it happened at home, usually those are the times when not even women notice they had a miscarriage. He might though wonder how you knew you were pregnant that soon. I have no idea why anyone would lie? Usually people lie about or dont reveal having complications, why would you make up one?

I don't know why you would lie to your doctor, but no, there is no way for a doctor to know for sure if you've had a miscarriage in the past or not. There is no distinguishing mark on your cervix or anything. He would know if you were having a miscarriage at the moment, but he couldn't tell anything that happened previously, unless you actually DID have a miscarriage or abortion previously and used a D&C and it left scarring.

To the person above. In a lot of states doctors dont have to inform parents of things like this. Secondly, yes they could tell if you miscarried. Did you lie about being pregnant or something? Im not seeing the reasoning behind this question.

If you are currently pregnant but have told your doctor you had a miscarraige, they can CERTAINLY tell if you have or not. Anything from hormone levels to ultrasound tests will tell the truth. I think the real question here should be why are you considering misleading your doctor? This is no way to get appropriate care if you are pregnant.

I can think of at least 4 different reasons you might consider doing this, and none of them seems likely to end up as you hope, if you lie to your doctor about this.
Even if you can get away with it (how good are you at lying??) and even if you can rationalize it, you'll still know, God'll still know, and it'll still be wrong.
Hope you'll find a way to care about more than just whether you'll get caught in the lie...

Of course. They're trained to recognize pregnancy, even terminated pregnancies. Your body changes as a result of pregnancy and it doesn't go back to normal immediately after losing a child.
Don't lie to your OB/GYN. Be up front about whatever's going on. If you go there and lie about yout pregnancy status, you'll be wasting their time as well as your own. If you need help, are in a sticky situation, whatever, just let them know... Or don't go at all.

They can do an ultrasound to see if you are pregnant.
If you told your ob-gyn you had a miscarriage they would do an ultrasound to make sure you were ok and there was no damage done.
But why would you want to lie to your doctor?

No they can't but if I were you I'd fess up. There are some rare conditions that can be a result of a misscariage. Your doctor making sure you didn't have one of them might subject you to some really expensive tests.
