They're the same thing...sort of.

An undergraduate is anyone who is taking classes in a particular major in order to obtain a Bachelor's. A freshman is simply your class level.

A freshman is usually someone in their first year of college while an undergraduate is anyone working towards a Bachelor degree. A freshman in college is an undergrad student if there working towards a four year degree. Also, credit wise someone is considered a freshman who usually has less than 30 credits. (Most schools require at least 30 credits to move up to sophomore standing, 60 credits to reach junior standing, and 90 to reach senior standing and a 120-128 credits to graduate.). Also, for someone who is a freshman for many than a year does not necessarily mean their a bad student, on the contrary it could just mean they had taken fewer classes (ex. taking 4 3 credit classes instead of the normal 5) or went part time that year, and there are many reasons why a student would choose to do so.

Freshman is the classification given to a student who has a certain number of credit hours completed at the college/university. For example, 0-30 hours can be classified as a freshman, a sophomore would have their own set of credit range, this of course depends on your college that you attend.

An undergraduate is a student who is not in any graduate school program who is attending college. For example, a freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior are all undergraduates because they have not graduated from a college yet.

Well, a Freshman is a either a new student or a student that has taken 0 to a certain number of credits. Most schools are generally the same. You would have to check with the school you attend or want to attend. An undergraduate is someone who is also new to college. And it also means that your just a student who hasn't graduated college yet and hasn't gotten a degree yet, but is pursuing one.

freshman is someone who has not failed and is a freshman. Undergrad is someone who moved up a grade but did poorly and failed some classes and would still be sorta considered a freshman.
