First of all, why would you want to? Unless the colors are "classic" or "timeless" more than likely, the cosmetics are outdated. Especially when you are talking about 6 YEARS - I thought I had read that wrong! :) Also, if the cosmetics have ever been exposed to air, even if you opened it just once or twice, bacteria could be in your cosmetics. In addition, the tecture of the make-up isn't the same. Seriously - spring for new cosmetics. It's well worth it!

throw those out!
Not only will they dry out and cause your make up to look cake like and dry, and feather on the lips, but for a lot of these items it's also really un sanitary. That is six years to grow bacteria that you don't want to put back onto your face now after it has grown into a pool of germs.
It's best to not risk infection and buy new, but if you insist on keeping some of it, shave off with a sharpener all old points and cut the lipsticks down too keep some of the germs away.

They say to throw all makeup out after 6 months. But if the stuff has NEVER been used, I think it's still okay.

Check for an expiration date, I'm not sure if they would have one or not. Even though you haven't used them, the products can become rancid or dried out after a long time. It would be safer just to buy new ones.

Eyebrow liners and Lipsticks I guess have long shelf lives. If they're like liners that you need to sharpen like pencils I would say they are fine. As for the lipsticks, if they look like they are powdery and sorta cracking already, I would say get new ones!! Goodluck.

i would say throw them away because they may have gathered harmful germs that can cause you to break out or get rashes but take them with you to buy new ones, so you can pick out the same colors, but if you want to try something new go and get something new

1] mascara is no good after 3 months - they dry up
2] liner,shadows - 6 mos. - infection risk for eyes
3] I have used lip and cheek colors for years with no problems.

If they havent been used and arent open then sure you can use them. If they have been opened or used you better throw them away for safety reasons.
