Get in the front seat, put your arms up, and learn to love the thrill. Don't worry... you'll be safe.

i used to be scared of roller coasters too , but now they are my favorite. the best advice i have is to start small and work your way up even the smaller coasters have some thrill in them. you can even watch the coaster go a couple times before getting in line for them. if this is something you really don't want to do your friend should understand. it may make you feel better when you see younger kids on the rides. one more tip that some one said already the best seat for someone not to thrilled of coasters is in the middle. have fun and try new things you may actually like the rides if not then you don't have to do it again.

Wow i was just in ur postion untill last week I went to Six Flags. I was so scared but i say just do the biggest scariest ride than ur fears will all gone that what I did. I just started off on El Toro and now i love roller coasters. Just breath in and out take a friend that will calm u down and sit in the middle or front and scream off and enjoy. If u r too scared try a smaller one hope it helps.

Don't worry about roller coasters, you have a better chance of getting into a car wreck than getting injured or dieing in a roller coaster. Roller coasters are meant to be fun, not making people fear them. After I get off an awesome roller coaster, especially one with loops or big hills, I always have this awesome rush and high adrenaline feeling. So don't sweat it, you only live once, have fun.

You might get the jitters, dont let your nerves take over you. My very first roller coaster was a biggie at the time (Viper- Magic Mountain) and it helped me get over it within seconds.
I took in a deep breath and just let go, your nerves can get the best of you. After the ride is over, you will definitely want to go again if you had fun.
If you do decide on going on a coaster, DO NOT EAT A LARGE MEAL BEFORE SO. :)

What I always do when I'm trying to get out of a day with the gang and stay home is call them and play sick but if you don't want to lie to them you could go to the park but eat tons and tons of candy and then be all like "i dont want to throw up so im gonna wait here for you guys" that always works lol and if your there you'll catch up on the gossip lol and you dont want to tell your friends your true feelings i mean come on lol but if you want to get out of the roller coaster thing eat candy starting............NOW!

I am not a teen but, you have every right to be scared of roller coasters. I am not talking about the natural fear from the speed, turns, descents. I am talking about getting killed in a roller coaster accident. The links below, goes to a a list of all kinds of accidents at amusement/theme parks.

Be in the middle. I hate roller coasters to, but the back feels really unsafe and bleh, where as the front sucks. The middle is the most enjoyable.

this is what i recently advised someone on yahoo answers:
if you really do want to ride them, just take deeeeeep breaths while getting on the ride, panic if you have to, thatz our body'z way of relieving stress, just dont keep it all inside, when i feel like a part is coming that i might feel uncomfortable or whatever just begin to SCREAM!!!!!!!!!!!! screaming allows us to let go of our fears, i do this all the time... yes that includes BEFORE a ride even starts, but hey that'z what works for me, and when i think the worse, when the time actually comes it doesnt feel as bad ha ha ha
i do this all the time! i recently, 3 days ago, had to this to ride tower of terror, my eyes were crying water falls, and i screamed while the "elevator" was going up lolz, people laugh, and it is funny, but you're ensured to have a good laugh and get over your fears, so next time, you know what to expect and it won't be as uncomfortable!!! :D GOOD LUCK!!!!!
p.s.
i am 16 and didnt ride my first roller coaster until 15 it'z not something to embarassing about, but you have to remember that you will always feel that way until you get over that first fear, because until you do you will always feel that way, thatz what my friend said to convince me to ride tower of terror, and it worked :D

Just tell your friends that you are afraid on going roller coasters. If they are your true friends they should understand you and your different fears.

I think you should try to ride them, but if you really don't want to you can wait in line with her and when its time to get on the coaster you can just step across and wait for them at the end. My friend did this...it works. If you are worried about what to say to your friends... just tell them its better to step across than to wear stomach chunks all day!!! :)
