Yes, you can keep them together as long as they are of similar size. They are almost strictly piscivorous and rarely eat anything other that live fish. They are also rather touchy fish and not easy to maintain. Personally, I would put them up there close to Discus in how demanding of water conditions they can be. They can be bred in a home tank, but again that's not so easy considering they will be even more demanding of water quality and often consider the babies as food so you need to separate them from the babies fairly early on. That means two tanks to keep that demanding. Below are a few links with much more detailed info about them.

Leaf fish would be better to keep as a single or a mated pair. You can sex them once they're around 1 1/2 inches in size when the female will develop an ovipositor. It's also best to keep them as the only species, because they'll eat smaller fish and they're territorial. If there are any tankmates, they should be at least the same size, if not larger than the leaf fish.

As adults they'll need fish to eat, but as young fish, you can give them bloodworms, mosquito larvae, or brine shrimp, but the food has to be alive.

The species is difficult to care for, and breeding them in a home aquarium would be pretty unlikely, but you could be lucky. If you do get eggs, you'll have to remove the female after they're laid. The male cares for the eggs, so you'll need to leave him in the tank.

I'll but some links with info below:
