Based on overall popularity, the Beatles are definitely the greatest rock act of all time, if not even the greatest musical act. But in my opinion, Led Zeppelin is the greatest.

Seems kinda like a loaded question. Ask a die hard Stones fan and I bet they'll tell you the Rolling Stones. A Beatles fan would probably say the Beatles. A Dead Head would have to go with the Grateful Dead. Train fans probably are gonna say Train. For me, Chicago.
