it's our choice that made us do things that harm our bodies. come to think of it. we know the consequence of smoking but it's hard to quit. it's willpower and great faith in yourself that you can overcome these vices. anorexia is a mental illness that needs to be treated. i can't categorize it as suicide but just the consequence of not properly taking care of our physical health and yes, lack of willpower to overcome these things.

Only God knows each individuals heart. If in your Grandmother's heart she wanted to die and was doing what she could to do so, then yes. There are choices that people make that are not healthy, but not condeming either, and that's probably what happened. She made a choice a long time ago to smoke or others who become trapped in annorexia, that did not intend on dieing for their decision, they just got trapped in a disorder or addiction that was difficult to come out of. Annorexia is a dangerous disorder, but people who fight this disorder need medical attention and counseling as well as a strong support group to help overcome the disorder.

Well, Christian Sister. God Bless you for loving the way you do. First of all, what a good question. But, as you know, the Bible says, All have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Paul tells us to die daily, and even the disciples struggled every day with short comings. No, I would hate to judge anyone for what they are doing or have done, or what they have died from. I would even hate to judge a suicide victim. Who's to say how their heart is between them and God. Only God knows. God talks of bondages and that we must try as hard as we can to get rid of them, but a lot of people die in bondage, but are saved. Suicide victims, and I say victims, have something going on mentally, and are mentally ill. Who's to say that they are or aren't going to heaven. We cannot say that and we cannot judge anyone for anything they do, including suicide. Only God can, and He is our Father. Rest assured, all God says is, "Except a man be born again, he shall not see the kingdom of heaven." So, if you're not saved, then you will not go to heaven. If you are saved, then we'll see them there. That's all God wants from us, is to ask Him into our hearts and lives. Yes, we must try, and try hard to not ruin and desecrate the temple of the Holy Spirit, and try hard. But, He does forgive us if we ask Him and He will help us get through things. But, that's just how I feel our God is. He is an all loving, kind, sweet, gentle, forgiving God. So, your conviction is to live as clean a life as you possibly can. Your Father will bless you with a long, long life for taking care of yourself.. and remember, only God really knows the answer to your question. There is no straight answer from the bible on that one except that it is a sin to ruin the temple of the Holy Spirit. I wish I knew a difinite answer for you.. but, I don't. What I just said, is just how I feel our loving Father is.. .

No. These are just a few of the many failings & weaknesses we have as human beings. Few of us deliberately eat ourselves to obesity; or smoke ourselves to lung cancer; or drug ourselves to addiction... And suicide IS a deliberate act- of taking ones life. We all think we're strong enough to "control" our everyday bad habits... -all the while never realising that they've actually taken control of us...

The short answer is "no". The short answer to what I think is your underlying question is "Suicide is not an automatic ticket to Hell." Our bodies are just one of the gifts we are given and we should be good stewards of it as we should everything else.
