This is probably the biggest problem in the American Culture. We're so used to having things resolved in one 30 minute sitcom.
Fact is, we've ONLY been there 5 years and the worst part of Iraq is centralized in one general location. To say that things are getting worse is false.
Are they bad in Baghdad?
Yes.
Are they bad in Mosul? Basra? Anbar? Tikrit?
No.
Look, I'm not a big fan of how we've conducted this thing since May 2003, but the fact is that we are finally getting somewhere and it's working. You guys can't see it because you can only see what CNN wants you to see. That's not necessarily the whole story.

Now that this Pandora's box is open. It is not easily closed. The whole world now knows that we have a radical Islamic population out there with more bombs than brains. The west and some Middle Eastern countries know that this is bad for business. Once Iran gets the message they will come around. Iraq has always been a hot bed of dissident religious behavior and the only way Saddam handed it was to kill any one who looked at him cross-eyed. The west doesn't do that kind of stuff. So follow the big money, powerful corporation and government pressure. Iraq will be Bush's legacy of infamy.

The only victory possible is a victory over minds. It's like trying to convert the entire nation of Islam to Catholicism. It ain't gonna happen. As has been pointed out to military intelligence analysts, "We had 10 insurgents in this sector, we killed 6 of them, that should leave 4, so how come we now have 20 insurgents in this sector?"

We aren't capable of victory. We aren't winning. This is basically punishment for this immoral war; us losing.
But Bush's intolerance will come back to bit him in the *** as soon as the next President is voted in, and he sees that it's actually possible to have an approval rating over 26%.

He doesn't want victory whatever that means there. Glenn Beck just said his nephew over there just asked him to send food as there is food rationing among the troops. Can it get any worse for our troops?
BTW where is all the billions of dollars going if not to help our troops. People that are there say the money is going to the contractors. What a shame this whole mess is he got US in to.

Because he lives on another planet!! And is generals keep asking him more money to win it...
Anyways, he may think to get a little victory on something, but not on all Irak, this is for sure! It is why they are talking to Iran right now... To split the country power and share the victory among others geopolitical adversaries, that will now become partners...
Not sure it make sense, but does Bush as ever make some??

As Condoleezza Rice pointedly said recently, “Our friends in the [Middle East] need to know and the Iraqis need to know that we are not looking to leave Iraq.”
They are looking to make a killing both literally and financially. They have no plan to leave Iraq--EVER!

Bush is riding the atypical "lame duck" run of Presidential office. In a nutshell, he's thinking "I'm gonna do what I want and screw you all if you don't like it.....after all: what you gonna do? Vote me out??? Helll-ooooouhhhh: it's my Second Term.....a-haaaah haaaah aaaaahhh!!!"
Why be angry at him? Hey: WE all fell for his rhetoric once--and RE-ELECTED the inept son of Bush.
Lesson learned: Vote wisely--not by frivolity, race or sex of the candidate. Let's for once vote someone QUALIFIED for the job, eh?

In this war there is no Victory,
Especially not for the US.
We jumped into a war that was not ours to fight.
This war is still the Crusades,And that's all.
It is a war of rights and religions.
And we had no right to it,
Also Our Constitution says we have no Religion. so what are we fighting?
Terrorist is a made up word that all side use to describe the other sides.
And don't even say it all started because they bombed us,
We Started our part in the Barbary Wars.
And did you know that to kill ONE enemy SOLIDER it takes about $ 500.000.Just to kill one

He isn't until he changes the rules of engagement and let our military do what it was built to do. I agree with our reasons for being there, but i disagree with the way it is being waged. If he was an employee he would have never been hired.
