I live in an environment where this thought constantly enters my thoughts. Could you handle such isolation?

Well let's see just how much time we have for sex here! 99% of the time no sex, 1% of time sex.

1% of 1 day = 1% of 24 hours = .24 hour = approximately 15 minutes per day.

Now say you only have sex every other day. That makes it approximately 30 minutes every other day.

Now say you did not have sex for the first 20 years of your life. This means that for the next 40 years you have have an extra 15 minutes every other day, for a total of 45 minutes every other day.

There are probably a lot of people that would take 45 minutes every other day for the next 40 years! Now if you made the deal 98% celibate, you could have sex for 45 minutes every day for the next 40 years. What a lucky fella you would be.

Um... I think the whole world is celibate 99% of their life. Do you realize how much sex would be required in a 80 year span to change that percentage?

Isolation and celibacy are not the same the thing.

Abstaining from sex does not require isolation. Many people want to be alone which is also a choice to be celibate.

Being celibate gives u more time to focus on other things in your life. Did you know Isaac Newton, one of the greatest physicists of all time was a life long celibate? Given the opportunity i think i could handle it.

Yes, I can say yes because I am effectively there myself.

The first thing you need to learn is you have a right hand and a left hand for variety. Once your mind is off the physical needs then you can be free to explore other areas of relationships.

I have developed deeper relationships with people because I had no interest in pursuing a sexual relationship with them. I do agree that it can be very lonely at times.

No. Even priests who take a vow before God to be celibate are largely unable to do so. They have sex with each other and with little boys or sometimes even females. Celibate just isn't the way nature intended us to be.

What you speak of still implies the possibility of masturbation. That I'm dealing with now, and have been for six years of my own choice.
Nothing at all, at my choice, I went seven years.

Many do and find it within themselves to do so... but what of the 1% you omitted from the question, what a moment that must be?
