I was wondering how often that happens? I took a test last week on Friday and I got a faint line.. and then I took another one Monday morning and got a big fat positive! My husband keeps joking that it's a false positive!? Does anyone know what the chances of that are?

If you even get a faint line you are pregnant. Especially, if you had another one positive. P. Tests are pretty acurate.

A pregnancy test works by detecting a pregnancy hormone in your urine. If you are not pregnant it will not pick it up 'falsely'
The fact that is was faint at first is because you had less of the hormone - the further into your pregnancy you get, the more hormone there is. I also had a faint one then a very dark one a week later.

They are rare, especially since you have two positives, even a faint line is positive. It does happen, don't get me wrong, but hardly ever, the tests now days are really good. Make an appointment and they will send you for a blood test, that can't be wrong. But if you have a line, you are pregnant, congrats I hope

Most people who claim to have had false positives 1 of two things happened. 1. They saw a evaporation line, or 2. they had a chemical pregnancy (a really early miscarriage). So your chances are slim to none. Even more so since they are 2 days apart. Congrats!

The first test I took was a faint half line. I took another test a week later and got a full line and nine months later had a baby boy! take another test but, I bet congratulatios are in order!

I don't know any percentages but I know it is extremely rare...I have actually never heard of anyone having a false positive only the reverse!

theses days you can not get a false positive the test works by detecting pregnancy hormone in your urine this can only be present when pregnante congrads

slim to none. pregnancy test work because they pick up a hormone in your body that it doesn't produce unless you are pregnant.
