The camera was mounted on the lunar lander. NASA anticipated the need to capture the first moment, and installed it as a last minute thing.

Some people say that the whole Apollo missions were a big hoax and that men never landed on the moon. And the whole TV footage were a huge hoax. To get further idea watch a google video on this subject.

As far as we know yes. Humans didn't leave the planet by conventional chemical means before that time or we would have found artifacts. Why would NASA try to fool everyone? If it was a hoax and they got busted they would have lost all funding etc... Wasn't the camera remotely operated?

The "moon hoax" believers are idiots. Still, chill out just a little, screamin. I think he's just asking the technical details of how they got film of the landing.
