Buy the cheap Compaq that they sell at Staples for $359. Here's why

You can add a better video card later.
You can add more RAM later
You can add more USB devices later

But it comes with a big hard drive, fast processor, Windows Vista, DVD burner. It has plenty of WOW for now, and you can build on it. Visit http://www.coastmemory.com for more RAM and http://www.newegg.com for more toys.

Good luck and Happy Computing!

First you want to make sure that the computer has a good processor, motherboard, hard drive, and power supply. Most computers these days dont come with sufficiant power supply units, usually not over 350 watts. Before upgrading any other components, I suggest you upgrade the power supply first. Also make sure you have enough room in the case and enough expansion slots available to make any of your upgrades.
