if you could give some examples with number equations, that would help a lot too

Algebra, like life, is tough to figure out; but once you get the hang of it (like life experience and gaining wisdom) it becomes easier to work through problems (math problems and life issues)

Different people can take this analogy in different ways. My perception of the quote Life is like Algebra relates to the process. Life is complicated. There is no quick fix or solution to ultimate success, or receiving a direct answer. There are steps and processes that lead you up to the final answer, and that teach you along the way. Also, life has so many lessons. Have you noticed the numerous lessons in an Algebra book? Each one of life's lessons teach you ultimately, and also help you learn patience, just like Algebra. In the end, Life IS like Algebra.

(1) When we are solving problems in life, we try to isolate one part at a time that we can focus on and solve. We try to test that answer by trying it and making sure it works. During the whole process, we try to use our intuition to tell if we are on the right track to getting the answer, or if we are off track. The same way we can make mistakes and end up with a contradiction, we have to go back and figure out where we went wrong so we can fix the problem and resolve it.

(2) Communication is like algebra.

The same way algebra uses "variables" to stand for "values" so we can separate constants, and solve for the "variables" that could have more than one possible value, the same thing happens with "language" and "words" that people use to symbolize "concepts." When we communicate, we might use words that could mean different things at different times. So we have to consider the greater context to eliminate the other choices and determine the meaning intended by the word. If we use one "variable" or "word" to mean two different values at once, that is when we miscommunicate and do not arrive at the same conclusion but get contradictory information.

Note: This is especially true of religion. If two people do not define "God" to mean the same thing, they can argue and never resolve the contradiction. Same with politics, with labeling which people or ideas are "liberal" or "conservative." These debates can go in circles if people don't agree what they mean by the terms they throw around.

(3) People and relationships
are like variables and equations.

The same way we solve "simultaneous" equations (where for each variable you have, another equation is required to solve for it), people's relationships are interconnected also! This is either good or bad -- either we take problems from one relationship and repeat them in another; or we take solutions from one relationship and use that to figure the other ones out.

Algebra is like making judgements. Take to illustrate the equation A + B = C. Now say that the place you're in life is A and the place you want to be is C. you should be sure what you're lacking interior the equation to get from A to C. especially situations in life you relatively need to confirm the place you want to circulate and alter what you're doing, via including, subtracting, and so on, behaviors or situations. that's relatively all relating to the analytical thinking technique in touch. determining a thank you to get the "terrific answer" for your self

Well I don't know if I could point the similarites between Algebra and life but you use a lot of the skills in algebra in the real world.

Algebra is like life because it has many unknown variables which can effect the outcome of situations (problems) in different ways.

I thought this and thought I was so creative lol just shows no thought is original anywho I was thinking of the variable and the constants and the = sign change the variables in life to get to what you want on the other side keeping in mind the constants. so on the other side of my equation is = multi millionaire on the other side I have constants black female kids what are the variables? What are the things that change that I have to discover to balance the equation.

Life is full of a series of complex equations. We are always trying to find the "Y" in life.

Cuz you've gotta figure out little pieces of your problems to work them out.

Because something small means so much.

Because one really big problem can turn into one small solution.

Because it's hard but once you've got the hang of things you're good to go.

Because if you live by neighbors, whatever you give to one side, you've gotta give to the other! haha

Because if you give it your all, everything will work out okay.

Algebra is like life for two reasons:
1) It can be hard if you make it hard
2) You have to do it, one way or another.

If that makes any sense :).
