I haven't yet, but I am dying to try it! The club we used to go to that had a karaoke night closed down, but I still want to find another club and try it out. The thing that impressed me most about it was the fact that even the people who really sucked were really great. Does that make sense? It isn't just the liquor--there's a sense of fun, and everyone is very supportive, and even if someone completely plasters a song, it's still fun for everyone. Plus, there's the simple fact that nothing beats watching someone else who is falling down drunk crying while they sing "I Honestly Love You" to their sweetheart. That will never be me singing that, but maybe someday I will get up and sing something a little less hokey.

definite. a buddy is a traveling DJ and we've been celebrating yet another friends birthday. We drank various "karaoke juice" and picked a music out of a hat to sing. (i can't sing) I had to sing If the next day on no account Comes by skill of Garth Brooks.

Yes, only because I was very drunk. The song was Like a rolling stone by Bob Dylan, which I thought I knew by heart till I got up there. I improvised alot of the words and everyone clapped, but probably because I was done.

Yes, I have. And it is more difficult than performing with live instruments... canned music cannot accommodate person inflection. *grin* I've done it (at times) because it is an easy way to make some cash... or whatever prize they happen to be offering. It can be fun with the right people... but I prefer 'real' music (live music) any day!

I've never sang karaoke anywhere but my house. I'm too shy to sing in public and then sing well.

Yes, I have, but I had to have a few to do it. Sang "Light my Fire" by the Doors. Everyone clapped so I guess it wasn't too bad.
