i dont want the ammonia to rise a worker theirat the pet store told me i should feed them once every other day after i told him a fed them twice a day

No more then twice a day, once in the morning(7-8am) (a pinch) and once in the late afternoon (4-5pm)

I feed twice a day too. As long as you aren't feeding too much at one time it won't cause ammonia problems. Just feed as much as they can eat in 2-3 minutes each feeding and remove any significant amount of left over food.

Twice a day! Don't believe every thing a pet shop employee tells you, some of them don't have a clue!

twice a day is fine, just remember to do25-30% water changes every week

3 - 4 per day for babies, 2 - 3 per day for juvinials, and 1 - 2 per day for adults.
