You can clean the evaporator coil with a MILD dish washing detergent diluted with water. Turn off the A/C and fan and If you have a hand-held spray bottle squirt the solution on the coil and let it sit for a minute or two. If you don't have a spray bottle, you can use a soft-bristle brush (a paint brush is good) or a nylon bristle brush by dipping it in the solution and GENTLY brush in the direction of the fins on the coil. GENTLY Rinse with plenty of clean water.
