Get the XFX 8800GTS 320mb.
It has Direct X 10 and 320mb of video memmory to handle demanding games. I have seen them lately for $250 after rebates. XFX has a lifetime warranty and good tech support. Search on www.pricegrabber.com for the cheapest available price on this card. Good luck.

I say that the most recent and most expensive video card is best to play games because new video cards come out every month or so, which will make your current one obsolete.
My opinion is to spend as much as you can on a new video card, so you won't have to lose money and keep buying mediocre ones as new cards come out.
Or go to a Best Buy, Circuit City, or Fry's Electronics (I prefer Fry's for the cheap, but good stuff). And talk to someone there (everyone who works at the computer department is very knowledged) and tell your situation and ask what they think.
good luck.

<$100, 7300GT ddr3.
>$100, 7600GT ddr3, 8600GT (DX10 & w/ PureVideoHD)
Around $200, 7900GS or X1950 Pro plus perhaps a power supply upgrade.
Do not be attracted by 512Mb ddr2 videoram. 256Mb ddr3 will beat it ALL THE TIME. 512Mb is not always fully utilized in games.

7600GT. Around $100 on Newegg, which is MILES better than Walmart or CC.
