My furnace is still working. When I turn the thermostat to cool or just in the on position it will not work. I put the funace in myself last fall. I believe that the wiring and the breakers are all fine. Any ideas?

If it is a gas furnace, the fan is controlled by the fan delay/high limit switch. The relay need only be in the de energized position. The thermostat does not have control in this particular set up. Does the outdoor unit run when you set it to cool and turn the temperature down? Do you have 24vac at the secondary side of the transformer? It sure sounds like a low voltage problem. Since you say it is wired correctly and if the outdoor unit is not running either, I would check for 24vac at the secondary of the transformer and go from there. Can you jump r R and Y at the t'stat and get the outdoor unit to come on? Can you jump R and G at the t'stat and get the indoor blower to run? If you can, you need to start wondering about the thermostat. I hope this helps you out.

Does the blower run when you set the thermostat to "fan"?

Is the thermostat wired properly (did it run last cooling season)?

Is the thermostat set point cooler than the living space?

Is the air outside the home warmer than the air inside the home? (above forty degrees)?

Can you SAFELY verify with an electrical meter that you have power at the outdoor unit?

Who installed your cooling side?
