Quite common after an abortion. She should not have the same problem with her next period. If she does, then she should contact her doctor. She is also very fertile right now even though she is bleeding.

Yes, you bleed for a while after having an abortion, miscarriage, and a baby. Usually, as soon as the bleeding stops (from either of those situations) your cycle will start.
Her body (and mind) are going through a lot of changes right now, so it sounds like a long period would be ok.
Try and be there for her as much as possible; she's going to need a non judging friend.

Yeah this is very normal. My sister is an o.b.g.y.n. nurse and she said that it is very normal to bleed after getting an abortion so she probably isn't on her cycle but she could just be bleeding from the abortion. I am glad i could help

Some bleeding is normal, but if it is excessive, she should contact her doctor and have a CBC and her hemoglobin checked. Is she in a lot of pain? If so, call the doctor immediately!
