I don't understand what people considered friends. I sit in a group of 4 in my English class. It's me and one of my friend, I've known for a while now, and the two other people who are friends with each other. We get along with them really well; we're really close, and talk about all sorts of stuff. This is in class of course. But outside out class, if I see the other two kids in the hall or something, I would say hi and stuff, but they just ignores me. Every single time. So, what's the deal? Do they like become a nicer person in class or something?

Maybe they are just bored in class. They might also just want to be acquaintances rather than friends. It sounds to me like they like you as a person, but just don't want to be what you would consider a friend. I don't think it is anything personal against you though. You might just want to go and talk to them and see what they think about it. They just might want to be your friend but don't know how to ask you or something like that.

I always considered the people that you're describing to be friendly aquaintances and not true friends. These are the kind of people who it's pleasant enough to be in a class with because you're friendly to each other. But as soon as the semester ends, you won't really talk to them again until they're in another class with you. True friends act pretty much the same way to each other in any given situation. If you want to try to convert it into a true friendship, you have to try getting together with them outside the class and see what happpens.

If you're sure they hear you and are ignoring you, then don't approach them in the hall anymore. Don't act like it bothers you, and don't ask them about it in class; just let it go, and play it cool. People are full of it, especially in school.. it's all a game, and if you refuse to play, then you'll be one of the few real people who are sought after for being genuine. You'll then be surrounded by people who are worth your time.

Sometimes people are two-faced, sadly.
