the e coil is the evaporator coil and it is in the house.

What you are referring to is the evaporator coil. It is usually located above the furnace or air handler. What it does is disperse the refrigerant through many smaller lines from the smaller (normally 3/8") of the two lines that enter into it. When it enters the A-coil the refrigerant is a liquid and as it gets farther from the compressor outdoors, it turns to a gas before it returns to the compressor. The blower fan in the furnace. pulls the cold off of the coil and sends it through out your house.

Is this a small window (or wall) unit? The e-coil (evaporator) is on the room side. The condensing coil is on the outside.
