I just would like to know the things I need to prepare and settle before moving to another State.

Can you add to the ff lists:

- Change address in the Post Office
- Change address in my bank account
- Request for disconnection of Light and Water
- Change of Address of Credit Card companies

By the way me and my family will transfer from Tennessee to Idaho.

-Local email address if using a local ISP. (Your Yahoo account is very mobile). Could include cancellation of services. See if your ISP has a forwarding service where they can forward your emails for a time to make sure you don't miss something.
-Magazine Subscriptions.
-Cancel local newspaper(s) and notify national carriers.
-Previous employer(s).
-Family members (use your holiday mailing list if you have one).
-Schools (both primary and secondary schools).
-Insurance companies. You may have to cancel your policies and get new ones; your insurance carrier may not be licensed in Idaho (different region from Tennessee). Don't forget about the life insurance policies in the back of the drawer.
-Mortgage / lien holders. (Home, auto or personal loans).
-Auto companies; if you have any vehicles under warranty make sure you notify them so they can send you recall information if needed.
-Look through your check book for the past year. Who did you mail checks to? Would they need to know your new address?
