I'm from here and I just want to hear what others think of this state.

I personally feel it's overcrowded, overstressed, fast paced, annoying, and just generally full of negative people.

The only redeeming factors are MANY places to shop, and I do mean mannnnnnnnny many many, convenient for food as well, 24/7 diners, very close to NYC and shore, but in general, NJ seems to have more trashy, violent, nasty, unenlightened people especially on the roads, even more so than NYC.

Parts of NJ are really nice and rich and beautiful, especially out west, but the eastern side sucks.

People here also seem just so materialistic and competitive, and just not nice people.

It's quite sad.

BUT all in all, I do live here, and I'm so used to it, it doesn't phase me.

But there's more to the world than Jersey. It really sucks, if this is all you know.

Life really IS better elsehwere.

Maybe there are some places worse than Jersey. Maybe LA, or harlem, or Detroit lol

I'm from the South and have always thought that most Northeasterners, not all, are very rude and it could have something to do with what you spoke about, all of the hustle and bustle. It just may be that they are miserable from it all just like you are. I love the South and am so glad I was born and bred here. Most Southerners are caring, kind and hospitable people. Also, we live life at a slower pace. Believe me, it's more peaceful that way!

Well, I lived in New Jersey for three weeks, and worked there for 10. I had a pretty good experience. Some pretty areas, and it's close to The City without all the congestion. (I come from small-town Nebraska, though, and I was AMAZED that it was just wall-to-wall urbanity in the part I was in.) Some people are very nice.

I don't know if I'd live there, but it was nice while I was there. You should try Nebraska -- you'd either love it, or you'd REALLY gain an appreciation for New Jersey! (I'm not sure if there are any 10 week summer internships in Omaha or Lincoln (-:, but you could try.)

Every place has its good and bad points. Friends tell me even Hawaii is hot, expensive, and has unbelievable bug problems. Try to concentrate on the good stuff.

BTW, don't judge a place that you go to on vacation. Vacations are meant to be fun, and you'll come away with a rosier view of that place than if you really lived there. OTOH, go on vacation as often as you can!

As a Ranger fan myself I don't mind their 3rd Jerseys...I kinda liked the Fisherman jerseys as well...It's not like I think they're the best looking Jersey out there, but I kinda like "ugly" things (just don't tell my girlfriend)...I don't know of any jerseys i really hate at all, I mean so what if it's not a classic like the Rangers, you really need to find your own style and not bite the style of other teams. It's like a Knicks and Mets Jersey mixed. I mean I guess I really don't care that much or maybe I have bad taste, but I like em.

The only thing i know about your state is that I have a very dear friend who lives there. I believe it is in Mt. Laurel...not sure but, I do believe this is the name.

Now, I have seen pics of her home exterior and it looks like a wonderful home and neighborhood.

So, you see, I cannot give you too much but, what I have seen, I cannot deem as good or bad. Sorry

Greetings from Bayonne, New Jersey. I was originally from Jersey City, but after being robbed and beaten in my hallway, I moved over to Bayonne. Not much better here. Lots of dollar stores, trashy people. People here are very rude. Hate it. Hoping to move to Maine some day.
