Most teens and adults have no clue what safe sex is ! I'm surprised we don't have half our people dying of aids, like they do in Africa .For them it is lack of education.

I find it sad and crazy when parents expect their kids not to have sex, just because they tell them not to.Teens have strong hormones that make them want to have sex.200 years ago we married our daughters off at age 12 and a boy was a man at 12.We can't ignore the facts, like a bird that keeps his head in the sand.We had sex as teens,Our teens have sex.Give them condoms and safe sex information. It isn't just getting pregnet that we must worry about, now it is worrying about getting AIDS and dying.Respect and love your teens enough to give them the imformation, that could save their LIVES !!!

Good question! Join the PTA and start a discussion. Write letters to the district superintendent and board of education. You can write your congressman, Governor and mayor. Unfortunately, if you live in an area that is very conservative and try to push for this necessary education, you may find yourself very lonely...to say the least! As far as adults go, Planed Parenthood has done a couple of commercials, but as far as I know, they still receive bomb threats (though, that is probably more to do with their connection to abortion referrals rather than teaching proper use of condoms). If you are a parent, you are guaranteed an audience! Hopefully, your child(ren) will pass along good info to their peers!

I agree with you - countries who have a policy of sex education at school have far less teen pregnancies - STDs, - early initiation into sexual activity.

It is counties like the UK and USA where, at best, there is a half hearted attempt at education where those problems are rife.

I don't want my daughter learning any more about "safe" sex from schools than she already does. I was happy to hear abstinence was promoted more than condoms, although they did learn about that as well. I don't understand what more you want them to learn? As far as I'm concerned they are learning quite a bit.

To me and my family, the only safe sex is sex only within a marriage.
