All religious/political views aside, I never understood or wanted to understand Rosie O'Donnell until I read this transcript of what was said:

O’DONNELL: …… I just want to say something. 655,000 Iraqi civilians are dead. Who are the terrorists?

HASSELBECK: Who are the terrorists?

O’DONNELL: 655,000 Iraqis — I’m saying you have to look, we invaded –

HASSELBECK: Wait, who are you calling terrorists now? Americans?

O’DONNELL: I’m saying if you were in Iraq, and the other country, the United States, the richest in the world, invaded your country and killed 655,000 of your citizens, what would you call us?

HASSELBECK: Are we killing their citizens or are their people also killing their citizens?

O’DONNELL: We’re invading a sovereign nation, occupying a country against the U.N.

-----Now tell me what you think about her views. Try to be completely unbiased here and see it from a humane viewpoint! thanks....

I dont agree with the way she presents herself, like I said, but I believe, in what she said here, she wasnt only thinking about herself or her country--she was seeing things from another, lesser known point of view, and that shows that there is some humanity left in the world, despite the fact that people are so riled up against each other.

I understand where you all are coming from, just curious to know.
SOFTBALLMOM, however, I think you are HUGELY misinformed. You, like many people, only know one side to the story. Turn off the American news, and watch the news from other countries, hear other people's stories rather than pro-war, pro-Bush enthusiasts, then you can make up your mind. Im not against anyone here, but you have to admit no side is "right" in this situation. My brother is a soldier, he first handedly saw what was going on over there. If it was good things or progress, I would not be telling you this.

I agree with Rosie 100%. I am against terrorism but the U.S is in Iraq because of oil interests . All the Iraqi oil goes to Haliburton Dick Cheney's company lot of people do not realize that. Why are so many less U.S troops in Afghanistan? Simple ,Afghanistan does not have any oil.

I have seen The View and the controversy surrounding Rosie and all those who oppose her. I tend to think that Rosie is very close to Rosanne Barr when she first arrived on the scene - people who have a lot to say and believe wholeheartedly about the issues they speak about, who are often loud, appear to be obnoxious, are the ones that people like to hate. Most of the time I think it's because they are bold enough to say what they believe. In this country, we have been taught that it is not 'politically correct' to speak your mind. If you look back in history, those who were so outspoken and got the public all riled up - were the ones who disappeared from the face of the earth. I just think that she believes what she is saying and she may have a point - and because this is America - she can say what she wants. If we disagree - we don't have to listen - but as you can see - what she has said has called attention to even some of us.....Personally, I believe she has something to say - I might not like the way she is saying it - but she has a right. Also, I am of the persuasion that this is OF THE WORLD and this particular issue is not really a major concern of importance to me. Much of it is part of the RATINGS GAME that the media plays with us. They will run anything in the ground just to get ratings.

many people dislike rosie intensely...some may call it hate. abc gave her a co-host or moderator position on the view and she monopolized the show with her inflammatory, irrational assertions like "the pres is a terrorist," "the 911 attacks were committed by the us gov't," "and the us troops in iraq are terrorists." if you want to read some intelligent and objective opinions, look at chris matthews on hardball, he's opposed to the war and liberal leaning politically. he had a panel of journalists from newsweek, the chicago tribune, and the washington post watch the video of the exchange you reference above, and they all four agreed she did call us troops terrorists. matthews said she is hurting the anti-war movement and called her a nut. the us govt committed attacks against its own citizens on 911? not only is that ridiculous but it angers people. what's even worse than her idotic ranting is abc giving her the platform to say these things for ratings....the conflict she created was resolved when elisabeth refused to tell the people rosie didn't actually mean it the way it sounded (and it's very funny to me that rosie demanded she say this)...elisabeth refused and challenged her to take responsibility for her statement and explain it herself. when rosie couldn't exercise power over elisabeth, (the only one on the view who would voice support for the troops) she had to retreat. elisabeth was much stronger on that day. abc and barbara walters have brought the view down to the level of jerry springer along with their reputation. the kindest thing i could say about her is she needs therapy...girlfriend has issues...and yes, people do hate her.

Rosie has a point, I don't have anything against her. I think she is a very strong individual. She is a good person who is not afraid to speak her mind. Good or bad I respect people who are not afraid to tell it like it is. I believe her gay pride overrules her common sense sometimes, IE the whole Kelly Ripa and Clay Aiken ordeal. Clay was wrong, Ripa was right, but she still tried to make it like Ripa was this homophobic individual, and she wasn't. Clay Aiken had disrespected her, and she called him on it!

Hasselback is an idiot, plain and simple. She is a victim or her environment and a puppet. She tries too hard to be noticed and to be heard, and she has no heart!

Peace!

I don't hate Rosie O'donnell. I think she is grossly under informed and does not have the facts nessasary to base her remarks on. I could go on and teach you all the points, but that would only cause you to lash out a simple rebuddle on Rosie's behalf. Do you even try to gather all the facts? Or do you think that Miss O'donnell has a sufficient education and access to political knowledge to explain WAR to you?

If you do, then I suppose there really is no hope is there?

How easy it is to forget what happened on 9-11. I can see where some would agree, but when the statue of Saddam was toppled the people cheered. When terrorist groups moved in THE AMERICANS stayed to help stabalize the region, I agree with Elizabeth that they are killing their own. The difference is that they do not value human life the way we do. As for Rosie, she will say anything to get a rise out of anyone. If she doesnt like this country, then she should leave. I dont want another American Soldier to die for her freedom to be outrageous and unpatriotic. Thats right, Soldiers did die for her to be able to speak her mind, are they terrorists too. She joins the ranks with Hanoi Jane.

Rosie is hard on the ears and eyes. She makes good points, but the presentation is horrible.

She changed the subject when she saw that she was cornered. WE are not doing the killing. It is disingenuous to claim that we are, when there's a religious war going on over there. And we're not 'invading' anything. We were ASKED to stay by the lawfully elected government of that nation. But she's too full of hate for Bush and the Republicans to admit to that.

Hypocrite!

I don't totally agree with her, but I think she has a right to have her opinion and people should respect that. It's funny how many people love to claim we live in a "free country" only to try to constantly prevent that freedom in others.

Rosie O'Donnell, like most of the fat dykes out there, is a flaming liberal, which is great because I definitely agree with what she's saying. But you can definitely dislike someone and agree with them at the same time.
