Casey's advice was to re-boot the modem. He has a very bright future in working at a tech support desk. Sorry, just could not resist.
I just had a 2Wire 1701 go bad. Borrow a DSL modem from someone else, preferably a different brand and connect to the modem directly. Go to a speed test sight. If it works OK, then you have a bad modem.
Do you have a DSL filter? Unplug all other phone connections.
If this does not work then it is a provider issue.

DSL connections each and every from time to time be afflicted by a mysterious issue noted as "intermittent sync". this could be brought about by potential of undesirable-high quality telephone strains on your house of living or exterior on the NID, a failing piece of kit on the valuable workplace, a quick in a line, rainwater, wiring on your place, being close to ability strains, and so on. in short...it is a soreness to song down the reason. I concur--get some filters and/or splitters to placed on your telephones to shrink noise coming from them. Please do not make the errors of putting a clear out on the line going to the modem, whether. the concern could desire to be in the telephone jack you're using. attempt a diverse jack; determine the telephone cords are below 30 feet...the shorter the greater useful.

i'd try a hard reset on the modem and leave it off for 30seconds and any additional routers/hubs etc... then starting with the modem i'd turn them on 1 by one and if it presists i'd call the provider and have them check the signal strength comming into the modem
