The net is a nightmare for the New World Order.
it is exposing them to such a point they must be in a panic.
Unfortunately there is more than a little dis-info online too.
one aspect of the net is that it can be monitored - so it is not in itself secure - but the sheer volume of material is very difficult to control which is a good thing as they want a global fascist state.
People will have to open their minds and look and the FACTS if not to be enslaved .

No. The whole reason the internet became so successful is that it's not centrally owned and regulated. Its anarchic nature is what makes it cheap, resilient, flexible, dynamic and democratic.
Anyway, this question is academic, since the internet CAN'T be controlled. For every attempt at censoring it, one hundred ways of circumventing this censorship pop up. Even China is starting to realise this.
The internet can be used for criminal purposes, but so can many other technologies, such as minivans, guns, and crowbars. That alone can never be a reason to control it. The ONLY way that criminal activity on the internet can be eradicated is to turn it into a state monopoly. That would eliminate all the advantages mentioned above. We would all end up a lot worse off.

I don't think anyone can have much control over the internet. The sheer volume of traffic on it is just too great to regulate in any meaningful way.
The internet was created by the US - by the military, in fact. That's about the only argument for the US keeping some special measure of authority over it. Were that point to be used too enthusiastically, and the US to try to keep too tight a riegn on the technology, someone else would just build up a parallel system - the way the Russians & Chinese are doing with GPS, now.

No...and no.
First off, the internet is not property of the US government, and should therefore, not be regulated by them.
We are slowly losing our civil liberties as it is, why give up more control willingly?
I am tired of hearing people complainain about the dangers to children on the internet...well, it is your job as parents to control your children, and thier internet useage.
Why should webmasters be punished/ harassed for 'objectionable' ADULT material that someones child saw?
...it's silly.
We use to have something called free speech.

Definately not, b/c then they could spread their propaganda onto the place where people who don't watch Fox get the news. Plus, they'd be able to use the Patriot Act to tap into information that we put on the internet, not just tap into phone conversations. Impeachment websites and others that don't agree w/the govt would cease to exist.

No way, they need to keep their nose in Washington and try to get something accomplished instead of trying to pull the rug out from under each other
