True or False? The upper layers of the mantle are "plastic". This is important because these layers can easily bend to accommodate oceans and mountains.

True, the asthenosphere behaves like plastic. However it does not accommodate oceans and mountains which are more than 100 km above the asthenosphere.

Kinda both. The asthenosphere is plastic to allow for the movement of the crustal plates. But the mantle is also resilient to be able to handle the changing weight of the plates due to seismic activity.

according to my earth and space science, it behaves like a plastic for shocks and movment above it, but it is not a plastic itself, like nylon. it is still magma rocks ect.
