How long can a person be dead and still be revived?

How many minutes does a doctor have to revive the heart before the brain quits completely?

Within four minutes the brain suffers irreparable damage, however the last things to shut down are the limbic systems, so if you don't mind having a vegetable, you've got some leeway.

The heart can be restarted without the brain. The heart will beat if it is removed from the body and kept in a nourishing solution.

The lungs can be driven by a ventilator.

The body can be fed on intravenous solutions. Dialysis can replace the work of the kidneys.

But at that point, the person is no longer home. The resident has moved out and forgotten to turn off the utilities.

At some point, too much damage has been done to the cells and they will no longer function.

Keeping the body cool can expand that four-minute window. For example, it's easier to successfully revive someone who's fallen into a freezing lake than someone who had a heart attack at room temperature. It's easier with kids, too, but mostly because their higher surface area to mass ratio makes them cool faster.

about 3 -4 mins before brain damage begin to occur then the risk of the person being revived with brain damage is low. Plus after that long the person is inoxic

I have heard of people being dead for ten minutes before they were revived.Although, they were revived after ten minutes there is a good chance of brain damage.

This depends on whether CPR is being performed, among a variety of other factors. My heart was stopped for 10-12 minutes, and I came out of it without any (to my immediate knowledge-lol), brain damage.

Well I know this,is they are down for more than 5 minutes it's almost guarenteed brain damage even if they regain a pulse
