Know nothing of blessings. But having had the best bad luck one could ask for most of my life, I reckon there are merely situations, and events. Like most things we define them as good or bad by how we experience them. That can be a matter of choice. Then the consequences (which in turn we'll judge good or bad later) depends on how we respond. A situation or event is always an opportunity for choice, if we see it. Seeing it, and responding appropriately, is the difficulty that trips most of us. However it goes, and however it may look in the rear-view mirror, the fact is that we have made our "now" - and that is where the next opportunities are ... if we've learned sufficiently from our past to see them, and know what to do with them. Most of my own youthful dreams failed or turned into nightmares - but I've had a fascinating life and retired exhausted to do whatever I chose before I was 50. What more could a feller ask?

Well fortunately the fortune came through misfortune and therefore, missing the fortune ever how many times... was eventually not missed. How many times does it come around any way? Its like racing in and on the fortune 500 race track. The starting line is of importance, however it's how and when the person crosses the finish line that dictates the fullness in a personal way. Where the line is for some may not be the same for someone else.
I have seen the time in my life... when a cold glass of water would have been a pot of gold. And also the pot of gold did not completely satisfy even in the position of self gratification. Was I fortunate to be misfortuned (my word), in order to learn that money is not evil but, the love of (Greed) money was the root cause of my misery.
The law of principle and attraction coupled with not despising small beginnings, will for sure place you in a place of fortune recognition and eventually things you desire whether good or bad.
Remember...wisdom is knowledge rightly applied.
A wise man once wrote and I believe it is true...
Proverbs 10:22 The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it.
A brief reading of the tenth chapter of Proverbs in the Bible will give ample advice concerning this subject. Happy Sowing And Reaping.
And That Is The News...Daniel

I think the form in which you stated the question implies
that they are blessings in disguise. The individual is not
included as the subject which causes the change from
bad to good. If a misfortune becomes a fortune within
a context isolated from the volition of the individual
who is affected then the change can probably be viewed
as a good surprise, and it is lucky because the individual
might not have been in control of the change.

Many apparent misfortunes wind up being fortunate in hindsight. This is common and hardly even make for a decent theme for a novel or movie script anymore.
However, luck is still an imaginary idea based on ancient myths. This is why we have the saying Blessings in disguise. They seem to be in disguise only because people usually cannot see them as they are until much later, if at all.
The universe and everything that happens within it is perfectly orchestrated to blend together according to the law of attraction.

Any negative can be turned to a positive pertaining to the things of life. Misfortune and bad luck don't always imply a blessing in disguise. Some things are just obvious. It is what it is.

You like flipping ideas upside down, inside out and front to back don't you, Enki? :D

Well, I think you would have to be a really virtuous and selfless person to turn misfortune into fortune. The former in your question is better than the latter.

Existentially speaking, from the Sartrean perspective, your world is a figment of your imagination and so, whatever happens to you is the making of your own choice. You have the choice because you are free. Hence, I suppose, if one really desires, he or she can turn what is deemed as misfortune into fortune and good luck into bad luck. BUT the choice is of that person. This is why we are responsible for whatever happens to us. However, I find this position hard to maintain as it brings about a state of existential lonliness and so, I would would have to assert that perhaps, true spiritual connection with others and oneself brings about happiness and hopefully, only the former in your question is favored as opposed to the latter.

You're heading to the airport cause you got buisness to attend to in another state or country the next day and it's far too far to drive there. But a five car pile up backs traffic up for several hours causing you to miss your flight, and there is not another that you can take that will get you there on time. So you're forced to return home, where you learn on the evening news the flight you were supposed to be on crashed with all aboard. So you're bad luck ended up being good luck as you would have died too if you'd made your flight.

Miss fortune usally costs a fortune and luck has nothing to do with it. If it does it is generally in disguise like as an amputated rabbit's foot. It's never good to be the object of someone's good luck which is why luck travels incognito.

Yes because you can learn from your misfortune what went wrong.

Bad luck can always flip to good luck I truly believe its up to you to not feel sorry for your self and play the victim no matter what happens in life it is how you view things, deal with them and move on either in a positive or negative direction in creating your life. :))))
