what makes you think the next printer will be placed near your desk? even if you did get them to change the printers, nope I'm afraid it is a network printer and it will stay where it is because that is the logical place for it,

Just guessing but, better print quality and speed with new printers? Better up time? More efficient use of paper/ink? Able to print in color? Reliability?

tell the truth as to the reason you don't want to use it, if it's the whole pre-school "i want to use the new one just because it's new" then i can understand, but that won't fly with the bosses, so sabotage the old printer, I'm sure you can find a way.

Just lean against the shelf it's on a bump it off the shelf and say "oops, guess I broke the printer".

installed memory, speed, cost of toner and processor. Newer printers have more memory, more ppm and have built in processors. Their toner and ink expenses may be lower as well but probably not.

just say you have a lot of files that u have to print and the old one takes too long and sometimes stops printing for no good reason
