I am as well. If most people knew that within three weeks of conception the heart and brain form inside the womb, they would also be pro-life.
I think the media likes to manipulate people into believing that babies (or fetuses as they say) are blobs for eight weeks into pregnancy, and that is so untrue.
I challenge anyone who doesn't believe me, to watch National Geographic's "Inside the Womb". Childbirth is a beautiful process. A gift from God.

Oh boy.. you've just opened up a BIG can of worms with this question! : )
I don't consider myself either. Personally, I would never have an abortion. But I don't down people who do. But I do believe there should be some guidelines on it. Abortions are not a form of birth control, and should not be treated as so. But I also believe there may be times when an abortion may be needed. Like for example, if a young girl gets raped and ends up pregnant, I believe she then should have the choice to have an abortion. Yes, there is the option of adoption, but I would think that it would be really hard to have to carry a child that was made in such a manner. It's bad enough the trama she had been through, then she has to carry a child, and then go through the pain of giving that child up.
Also, if pregnancy puts the mother at a fatal risk, I believe it is ok to abort. For example, eptopic pregnancies. They can do a lot of harm to the mother, and usually the baby doesn't make it anyways.
I know a few people who have had abortions for various reasons. I don't condone it, but I don't feel it's my place to say anything. I always just say " I am there for you no matter what descision you make".
I also believe that women should be more careful to prevent pregnancy. There are a lot of forms of birth control avalible. If you are having unprotected sex and end up pregnant, then that is a choice that you have made, and the consequenses should not end in the death of a baby. I hate when I hear people say "It's not a baby, it's a fetus". But reality is, that abortions can not safely be done untill a woman is at least 6 weks pregnant, due to the fact that the fetus is so small, it can be damaging to do it sooner. But the fetuses heart chambers form at 5 weeks, and the heart begins to beat at the end of the fifth week. By 12 weeks, it resembles a tiny person, with arms, legs, and all vital organs. This is also the time when most abortions are done.
Here is a site that has some pictures of what aborted babies actually looks like.
CAUTION : THESE ARE VERY DISTURBING IMAGES.
http://www.priestsforlife.org/images/index.htm#galleries
What makes me sick most of all, is that abortions can be performed up untill the end of the fifth month. At 28 weeks, just one month later, a baby has a 70% chance of living outside of the womb.
Partial brth abortions (which are illegal in American, thank God!) are what bother me the most. There is NO REASON THAT THIS SHOULD BE EXCEPTABLE!!! The are two process (AGAIN, VERY DISTURBING) One involves delivering the baby halfway, and jamming a sharp instrament into the infants brain. The second involves a toxic solution that actaully burns the baby untill he/she dies. (There are some pictures of this result on the link I gave above).
Anyways, because of all this that I have mentioned, I cannot really call myself either pro-life or pro-choice. If I was put into a life threatening situation or was raped, I'm not sure what choice I would make. But my son was not a planned pregnancy, and his father wanted me to have an abortion. I refused, and I wouldn't change it for anything. He is 3 now (his father has nothing to do with him), healthy, smart, loving, and the best thing that has ever happend to me. It has not been easy doing it alone (I also work and am in my 3rd year of college), but I would not have done it any other way.
I just think that there is always a way to make it work. We're never given more than we can handle. I love my son dearly, and am glad that I chose life.
** *Sorry this is so long - in fact, it so long that the spell check won't even work for me! - it's just something I get passionate about. ***

I am a man, therefore I don't believe I have a voice in the matter, I would not choose an abortion, but if a woman felt she needed it, I believe she should have the right to have one. People know whether they can be a parent or not, I would rather she have an abortion than an abused child that's going to one day come unlatched and kill a bunch of people, maybe even my family member.

First thing I only speak for myself, not others.
Yes I am. I really became pro-life after I got pregnant and saw the stages of a baby in the womb. I also saw on youtube (nothing horribly graphic and not on a real baby just plastic parts) how they perform abortions and it made me sad. I don't, however, force my opinion on others because it's not for me to judge them.

Well, being that I grew up in a household where I was told that I was a mistake...I'm pro choice. I really hate the idea of killing a baby but I despise the idea of a child living with parents that didn't want them and the poor kid is despised for even being born. I know what I went through and I would prefer the baby to be in a better place (with God) than to have to suffer with a family that doesn't want them...
But as for me, I would never have an abortion. I would not treat my child like I was treated...

Yes I'm pro-life but I don't totally value abortion. Only if it is absolutely necessary.
