If you want wireless, you need to buy a wireless router. First you will need to connect the router to the main computer. Then you will be able so share that internet connection with other computers when you connect the router wirelessly with the other computer(s). The directions will be included with the router and should be easy to follow. There is one problem though. Most/all of the wireless routers I have seen, including the one that I own, need to be connected to a main computer via an ethernet cable. But, that being said, some internet providers actually sell special wireless routers that are completely wireless with all computers on the network. It is worth a phonecall to your satellite provider to see if they offer this before you go into researching which wireless router to buy.

Have one computer as the host. It will have the cable going to the modem. Make this connection shared. This computer will also have a wireless card installed. No configuration is needed - never mind IP address or anything. You should have a name for this wireless network so that the second computer can connect to it. This computer should stay on in order for the second computer to use the internet.

The second computer being wireless, needs to keep the IP address and all in automatic. Find the wireless network with the second computer that is the name you gave in the first computer. Once you have connected, internet should be working on all.

Once upon a time I had Starband. I used an old P233mhz computer as the stay-on-all-the-time computer with the NIC going to the modem as shared, and the other two just connected wirelessly to the internet through it.

I hope this helps at least a little.

If your satalite converter box converts your signal to a 10/100 LAN cable, then all you need is a wireless router that you can pick up at Wal-Mart. If it doesn't, then you will need to contact your satalite provider.
