That is their heritage and should not be put down because they do not speak spanish. Why don't Mexicans speak in Aztec? That is the real mexican language if you ask me. I am bilingual and my sisters are not. We grew up in the same household but I communicated with my grandmother in spanish whereas my sisters spoke to her in English. We are in America and English is the first language here not Spanish. Many Americans from different backgrounds do not speak their native tongue and you don't see them bent out shape over it. One should be proud of who they are as an individual and worry about what anyone else has to say. Life is to short.
