"The world has been very hard on her," said Michael Heller, an attorney and Lohan family friend. "She has a lot of personal issues and family issues. There's an incredible amount of pressure on this 20-year-old.">>

Sure, we can all see how Lindsay's life has been harder than the average person. It's no wonder she turned to cocaine. (this is sarcasm)

He also noted on Tuesday that Lohan has "gone from one movie to the next," spending long stretches of time away from her family.

"She's living in a hotel," he said. "It's a very lonely existence.">>

That's right, tell Lindsay why she's so depressed and makes all those bad bad choices. Forget about holding her accountable and tough love....just sympathize with her. Well, he is her paid attorney..but still!

Codependent as in, *Hi I'm Lindsay and I can't quit doing drugs or drinking alcohol???*

The CHILD isn't even 21 yet but I suppose that doesn't really matter in this day and age.

Ya know...I want to feel sorry for her. I really do.....she chose a lifestyle though...a very public one......so its hard to feel sympathy for someone that puts themselves in the public spotlight on a daily basis....and then gets upset or blames the media when they won't leave her alone (not condoning the constant *in-your-face* crap the paparazzi pulls)

My thoughts on her are really quite simple.....

What is the true meaning of the word insanity? When broken down?.....Making the same mistake over and over again and never learning your lesson when you keep ending up with the same results..........cRaZy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (or is that the true definition of sTuPiD?????....one or the other ;)

She has led a very dysfunctional life thus far and the only way she is going to be any different......is if she CHOOSES to change her ways.....codependent or not......its time to break the cycle and grow the heck UP!

**Forget about holding her accountable and tough love**

I pose the question: Isn't that what we do in society these days. Gloss everything over and look the other way instead of doing the right thing.

Stars are never held accountable for their actions. I feel sorry for them really. Too much money at an early age. It enables them to buy anything and do anything. They constantly seach for the next high, whether it be drugs, acting out in front of the cameras, etc.

Whats really sad is that these are the role models for our youth. Not doctors or teachers or policemen. But drugged out, alcohol abusing, cop fighting losers.

"How one should avoid hatred and contempt." It is mentioned that when it pertains to the subject of a state, a true prince should "…acquire a reputation that will discourage people from even considering tricking or deceiving you." Thus a man who gains power by doing evil upon his people will not gain the same reputation as a man who gains his power through moral means. This reputation will either lead to respect or the opposite, which will determine the successfulness of that ruler. Machiavelli also further mentions that "A ruler who is thought of in these terms has the sort of reputation he needs; and it is difficult to conspire against someone who is respected in this way, difficult to attack him, because people realize he is on top of his job and has the loyalty of his employees."

I believe we are all mostly "co-dependent" cuz "no man is an island" - but, yea - I'm sympathetic toward the subject. She sure needs some "support" in her seemingly lonely life
