I am from the U.S. and in my humble opinion there is no "acceptable" reason. Whatever your political, religious or personal beliefs may be murder is murder. I know that the people who carried out the 9/11 plot hate America, it's beliefs, it's freedom, wealth and citizens but there is no acceptable reason.
